Biography:

María Franco is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Economics and Business Administration at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. She holds a MSc and a MPhil in System Dynamics (i.e., simulation methodology for the analysis of complex problems) from the University of Bergen (Norway), Radboud University Nijmegen (Netherlands) and the University of Palermo (Italy). In her research Maria uses qualitative and quantitative complex system approaches to understand sustainable consumption and production models in connection to the Circular Economy. Maria has professional experience in the business consulting industry and is now in the final year of her doctoral studies. Maria’s first doctoral paper has been published by the Journal of Cleaner Production with the title: "Circular economy at the micro level: A dynamic view of incumbents’ struggles and challenges in the textile industry.”
